What we collect
Who we are
PassiveTask is a construction-documentation platform operated by PassiveTask Ltd, based in the Province of Ontario, Canada. This policy covers passivetask.com and the PassiveTask application.
Information we collect
We collect the information you give us when you request a demo, contact us, or create an account: your name, email, company, and anything you include in a message. When you use the platform, we store the projects, documents, photos, and files you and your contributors upload. We also collect basic technical data such as device type, browser, and pages visited.
How we use it
We use your information to run the platform, respond to you, provide support, process payments, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the documents or project data you upload for anything other than providing the service to you.
Cookies and analytics
Our site uses cookies and similar tools to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
Sharing and security
How we share information
We share information only with the service providers who help us run PassiveTask — hosting, payment processing, email, and analytics — and only so they can perform those services for us. We may disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. We never sell it.
Where your data is stored
PassiveTask runs on Microsoft Azure. Data may be processed in Canada, the United States, or other regions where our providers operate. Wherever it sits, it is protected by access controls, encryption in transit, and role-based permissions.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward so you can export or reactivate. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
Your choices
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your personal information, ask for a copy, or object to certain uses. Under Canada’s PIPEDA — and equivalent laws such as the GDPR and California’s CCPA where they apply — you may have further rights. To exercise any of them, email us at info@passivetask.com.
Children’s privacy
PassiveTask is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and the law change. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, tell you directly.
